Our block paving service
Block paving is laid on a compacted sub-base and a screeded sharp sand bed, with the whole area restrained by concrete-haunched edgings. Blocks are cut in on a bench saw rather than snapped, joints are filled with kiln-dried sand and whacked in, and the surface is swept and topped up so the sand settles into every joint. Herringbone is the strongest pattern for a driveway because the blocks lock against each other under load, and a contrasting border or a double soldier course frames the area and tightens the edges.
