Our fencing service
A fence is only as good as its posts. We set posts in concrete at a depth that suits the height of the fence and how exposed the boundary is, and we use gravel boards at the base so the panels or feather edge are not sitting in wet ground. Where a boundary runs across a slope the fence is stepped or raked to follow it rather than left with gaps under the panels. Old fencing, posts and concrete spurs are dug out and taken away as part of the job.

What is included
What you get with fencing
Everything below is part of the quoted price rather than an extra added on afterwards.
- Taking down and removing the old fence, posts and spurs
- Posts set in concrete at a depth suited to the fence height
- Gravel boards at the base to keep timber off wet ground
- Panels or close board fixed square and level
- Fences stepped or raked where the ground falls
- Gates hung to swing clear, with the ironmongery fitted
Our process
How it works
- 01
Tell us what you want to change
Call, message or send the form. Photos of the garden as it stands now are the fastest way for us to understand the job.
- 02
We visit and take levels
We look at levels, drainage, access and what is already there, then talk through what is realistic in the space and the budget.
- 03
You get a written quote
Each part of the work is priced separately, so you can see what the paving costs against the turf, the fencing or the walls.
- 04
We book a start date
We agree a date, confirm access for machinery and skips, and let you know how long the garden will be out of use.
- 05
We finish and clear up
Waste goes, the site is swept, and we hand over anything you need to know about looking after new turf or planting.
Why choose us
Why choose us for fencing
- A family-run team, so you deal with the people doing the work rather than a call centre.
- The groundwork goes in before the surface, which is what decides how long the job lasts.
- Driveways, paving, walls, fencing and turf are all in-house, so the levels and finishes line up.
- A written price with the materials named, so you can compare it properly.
What affects the price
No two jobs price the same. These are the things that move it most:
- The run length in metres and the height of the fence
- Panel fencing against close board, which is built on site and costs more
- Removal and disposal of the existing fence
- Ground conditions, and whether posts hit concrete, tree roots or services
- Gates, and how many
- Access, particularly for a fence at the bottom of a long garden
Areas we cover
We take on fencing across Mansfield, Nottingham, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Alfreton, Heanor, Ilkeston, Shirebrook and Clay Cross.
